The software service arena today is largely the result of innovation fueling a series of disruptions that have occurred over the last decade.  This started with Amazon realizing they had a surplus of resources driven by a team of out of the box thinkers that began selling what today is the juggernaut AWS.  The transition into virtualized servers began two decades ago; today’s tech stacks are generations beyond virtualization, an amalgamation of cloudified architectures.  Server-side applications are being compartmentalized and segmented into the smallest common form (microservices) that allows for scale, cost control, and agility.
